POSITION OVERVIEW



Qikiqtani Industries Limited (QIL) is a 100% Inuit-owned company of Qikiqtaaluk Corporation and provides Inuit owned industrial capacity to companies and developers in the Canadian Arctic with primary focus on the mining, oil, and gas sector.

This will be 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off rotational job at a leading mine site in Nunavut are we are hiring asap. Flights (up to $810), food, accommodation, wi-fi, laundry everything is paid for. If interested, please send your resume to gpatel@qil.ca.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



Provides guidance to junior kitchen staff members, including, but not limited, to line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating

Assisting the executive chef with help in the preparation and design of all food and drinks menus

Maintain quality control by monitoring all aspects of the flow of food from ordering to storage to preparation and service to repurposing leftovers and finally, disposal.

Maintain food safety by maintenance and monitoring of the food safety program.

Train and mentor staff in food safety, safe work practices and technical cooking skills.

Supervise and inspect all preparation and cooking equipment on a regular basis to ensure that they are kept clean, sanitary, and in perfect operating order

Ensure responsible ordering, receiving and stocking incoming orders and supplies.

Supervise unloading of good to the proper areas and making sure all stock is rotated. Eliminating unnecessary food waste.

Other duties as required and instructed by the Executive Chef.

Hiring and training new kitchen employees to camp and kitchen standards.

Making sure all varieties of food products are properly dated and organized for quality assurance.

Manage the kitchen in the Executive Chef's absence including but not limited to planning and directing food preparation when necessary.

Minimum Requirements:



Must have Culinary Arts Education

Minimum of 7 years of experience in food service industry is a must.

Must have First-Aid Certification, Advance Food Safety Certification and any other relative certifications would be a plus.

Must be able to use all food preparation equipment such as ovens, griddles and fryers, and able to operate production equipment.

Must have good Computer Skills (Word, Excel, and Outlook) to perform daily operations and communication.

Must have accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions

Must be teamwork-oriented with outstanding leadership abilities and excellent time management skills.

Must be able to work alone in an office if required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00-$30.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
