Sourcing Specialist (procurement)

Job Description


We are looking for Sourcing Specialist who is passionate about Procurement and with extensive experience in sourcing a wide range of goods and services with a strong focus on hardware, software and IT professional services. The opportunity spans across the organization and will require interaction with employees at all levels. The successful candidate will have strong project management skills, analytical skills, superb communication skills and a strong foundation of Procurement best practices.

As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:

  • Assessing, defining and resolving complex procurement issues, including contract terms & conditions and escalations by internal stakeholders and suppliers. Formulate solutions and consult or advise the Director when necessary.
  • Executing the OMERS Procurement process, from developing the sourcing strategy, facilitating the competitive process, negotiating and selecting the successful supplier
  • Proactively resolving issues that arise between contractors and project teams in a professional manner
  • Market intelligence and internal spend analytics to determine Procurement strategy
  • Assist in developing RFx requirements
  • Target and record cost savings
  • Solid understanding of vendor relationship management best practices, vendor obligations, and service level agreements defined in all contracts.
To succeed in this role, you have:
  • Minimum of 3 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in Procurement or relevant working experience
  • Strong relationship building skills and the ability to influence our business partners
  • Strength in Professional Services and IT procurement
  • Ability to communicate with different levels of Management with interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Are a strong team player
