PURPOSE:

The Sort Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the efficient and accurate sorting of packages within the Distribution Centre. This role ensures that all sortation operations are performed in compliance with safety standards, quality procedures, and productivity targets. The Sort Supervisor will lead and motivate a team of Sortation Workers, troubleshoot operational challenges, and implement strategies to improve processes.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:



Supervise and manage the daily sorting operations to ensure productivity and accuracy in sorting packages Lead, train, and develop a team of sorters, ensuring they are fully equipped to perform their duties efficiently. Monitor sorting workflow and assign tasks to staff based on operational priorities and workload. Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure that sorted items are correctly categorized and meet company standards. Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety regulations and protocols, conducting regular safety audits, and addressing safety concerns. Oversee the proper use of sorting equipment and tools, ensuring they are properly maintained and operated safely. Analyze sorting data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement. Ensure compliance with all relevant company policies, procedures, and industry regulations. Provide coaching and feedback to team members to enhance performance and encourage professional development. Prepare and submit daily or weekly performance reports to management. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize sorting operations and increase efficiency.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:



Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a logistics environment Experience leading diverse teams that support high volume and a fast-paced warehouse environment Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to positively influence and motivate workers Excellent time management and organization skills Strong computer literacy required, particularly Microsoft Office/Excel Post-secondary education in transportation, operations or logistics an asset Previous experience with scheduling is an asset

Must have a vehicle; local travel may be required from time to time Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Ability to stand for extended periods of time Work in a fast-paced environment and make effective decisions Flexible with working hours (mornings/afternoons/weekends)
