Role Summary

As a Solutions Architect, Senior Consultant at Project X Ltd., you will be providing our clients with your knowledge and experience of making sense of messy, unstructured data. Using your computer science, statistics and mathematics expertise, you will develop data architecture and roadmaps for complex enterprise-wide initiatives, then socialise the results with our clients.

Major Areas of Responsibility

  • Participate in the requirements gathering, analysis, solutions design and integration of enterprise solutions based on business requirements and use cases.
  • Design and implement a comprehensive data architecture that aligns with the organization\'s overall business strategy and objectives.
  • Perform gap analysis of organization\xe2\x80\x99s existing data architecture, ensuring that data architecture complies with industry standards and best practices.
  • Create, scope, plan, document and estimate work required to deliver solution architecture. Able to zoom in and out between enterprise level needs as well as detailed asks of individual solutions.
  • Develop data models and create entity relationship diagrams for relational and non-relational databases.
  • Develop and maintain data dictionaries and other documentation related to data architecture.
  • Coordinate with different stakeholders to implement data architecture models and monitor outcomes. Oversee the implementation of architecture in production systems.
  • Continuously identify potential issues, conflicts, and risks. Analyze, mitigate and escalate where appropriate.
  • Mentor and guide team members on data architecture best practices. Contribute to lessons learned and process improvements.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Advanced degree in a discipline such as: Data Science, applied math, applied science / engineering, statistics, or related area.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in data architecture, systems design and software engineering best practices, with the ability to architect or explain complex systems interactions including data flows, common interfaces, APIs and other methods available.
  • Strong understanding of data architecture concepts and techniques, including data modeling, schema design, data warehousing, and big data technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability in developing enterprise architectural blueprints.
  • Experience with data architecture tools such as ERWIN, PowerDesigner, or similar.
  • Cloud and on-premises technology from infrastructure through the technology stack like AWS, GCP or Azure.
  • Perform data profiling and exploration to ensure integrity of the data.
  • Experienced in exploring and deriving value from structured/transactional data as well as from unstructured data and streams.
  • Strong critical thinking capabilities. Approach all work with a consultative mindset.
Nice to Have

Familiarity with data governance and data quality best practices is a plus.
