ABOUT OUR CLIENT

Our client is a leading Victoria firm currently seeking an energetic and driven corporate commercial solicitor. Established almost 30 years ago, the firm was founded by two lawyers who have been in practice for over 35 years and bring with them a wealth of knowledge and experience. With a focus on the business law and real estate law practice areas, this boutique firm has built a sterling reputation for itself on the Island and is proud to be the go-to firm for real estate and corporate law matters. Lawyers here enjoy practicing in the suburban office with a relaxed atmosphere where the quality of life, collaboration, and teamwork are truly valued.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The firm is growing rapidly and in need of an experienced lawyer to step in and assist with the thriving practice and to head the firm's corporate commercial practice. The successful candidate will work closely with the partners and manage a caseload of corporate and commercial transactions and commercial lending work for the firm's 800+ clients. The position will also involve playing an active part in networking and business development to further build up the practice. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of corporate commercial law experience and is enthusiastic about taking the lead to hit the ground running.

THE REQUIREMENTS

• Member of the Law Society of British Columbia or eligible to be called to the BC Bar
• 3+ years of corporate commercial law experience and strong working knowledge of running corporate commercial transactions from start to end
• Personable with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Passionate about networking with other lawyers and enthusiastic about growing a practice

COMPENSATION

• Base salary commensurate with experience
• Discretionary bonus based on firm performance
• Comprehensive benefits package and 3-4 weeks vacation
