The Opportunity:
Solvest is seeking multiple seasonal Solar Technicians to join our dynamic Large Projects team for our busy and exciting season! In this position, Solar Technicians will work as members of large project installation team in a shift rotation, typically 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off, developing utility scale and ground-mounted solar and energy storage projects in the North. Work includes working at heights and assisting electricians when required. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of renewable energy and make a positive impact on the environment.

Who you are:
As a superstar in this role, you are an experienced labourer who enjoys the momentum of pushing yourself in challenging environments. Ever reliable, you thrive in a shift work setting that allows you to explore remote territories in the North.
Employment Status: Seasonal Full Time - 40 hours per week + frequent overtime
Wage: $25.00 - $33.00 per hour (based on experience) + annual profit-sharing bonus based on company performance
:
• The chosen candidates will be trained and expected to perform the following tasks:
• Install solar photovoltaic systems at various worksites. Install all components in keeping with Solvest's training standards and industry best practices as well as product installation manuals. All electrical aspects of the project are directly supervised by the crew Electrician.
• Install ground mount - Nuance Racking - including installing the earth anchors and testing each anchor with the load locker.
• Assist electricians in pulling and strapping cable or installing inverters as required.
• Ensure the worksite is clean organized and safe at all times.
• Complete all work in a timely manner.
• Operate company vehicles.
• Be respectful and polite to clients, other contractors, and members of the community.
• Other tasks assigned as part of the Solar Technician position agreement.
Required Skills/Qualification:
• Excellent people skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to operate power tools and familiarity with heavy machinery, possibly operating when qualified to do so.
• Punctual, ready and responsible for boarding flights on time.
• Physically fit and able to work 12-hour days. Ability to lift 80lbs unassisted.
• Previous solar experience would be considered an asset.
Additional Requirements:
• Must be willing to work at heights - Fall Arrest Training will be provided.
• Must be willing to wear all required PPE including safety glasses, ear plugs, steel toed boots, gloves and Hi-Vis vest.
• Must be willing to travel to communities.
• Valid driver's license with at least 3 years of driving experience.
