Our projects are on commercial buildings - flat roofs and sheet metal roofs, in Edmonton, Calgary, and smaller cities and towns across Alberta & BC. There is some travel (25%) required with this position.
We are hiring a motivated
Solar Service Technician & QA/QC Leader
who wants to learn and grow in the clean energy industry. This is a full-time position based out of our Edmonton office and surrounding sites and will report to our
Field Supervisor.
Mission: Inspect & troubleshoot solar electrical systems and perform QA/QC inspections on completed projects.

Key Accountabilities:
1. Recurring Maintenance
. Perform annual Operations & Maintenance inspections onsite. Document conditions, make repairs, & issue reports to customers. Estimate major repairs, perform RMA's, ensure work orders & invoices are completed
2. Troubleshooting / Service Work.
Troubleshoot & repair solar & electrical systems.
3. Perform QA/QC inspections and generate punch lists
4. Construction.
In between QA/QC, service projects, and scheduled maintenance inspections, assist construction crews with installation work
5. Commission Solar Projects.
Perform final commissioning of solar arrays, EV charging, battery storage, communications equipment, protective relays, and other electrical systems
Secondary Accountabilities:
Ensure work is completed safely.
Ensure you and direct reports are adhering to safety policy.
Ensure work is completed with utmost quality.
Ensure direct reports are adhering to quality control process. Ensure the finished product is professional and safe.
Assist in training Customers on software portals and answering their questions
Coordinate equipment rentals, travel, & accommodations as required
Maintain Equipment
If a tool, lift, vehicle or other equipment is broken, unsafe, or needs attention, bring it to your supervisor attention and plan to get it repaired.
Market and sell services as a maintenance technician for other commercial solar and/or utility solar projects
Order material for various maintenance projects

Qualifications & Experience
2+ years solar troubleshooting and maintenance experience with all sorts of electrical testing equipment including meggers, multimeters, solar meters, etc
2+ years solar commissioning experience
4+ years commercial electrical experience
Class 5 driver's license with clean record
Electrical Safety Training System ESTS/ Arc Flash training
Fall Arrest, Aerial Work Platform, CSTS safety tickets
Highly capable with all types of software including Bluebeam Revu, SiteDocs, OneDrive/Sharepoint, and Microsoft Word & Excel
Thorough understanding of ethernet & wireless networks
