Job Description

As a Solar Site Surveyor at Riverside Energy, your primary responsibility is to evaluate potential sites for solar power installations. Your assessments will help determine the feasibility, efficiency, and design of solar energy systems, directly contributing to the company's mission of promoting sustainable energy solutions. You will be one of the first faces our clients interact with, combining customer service and technical skills to ensure successful project outcomes.

Job Duties & Responsibilities



Driving to and from Client Site(s):

Review the scheduled site surveys required for each day and arrive at the site on time.

Map Out Site Electrical:

Draw schematics on-site and identify various electrical infrastructures on-site.

Provide a Site Plan:

Show the physical locations of key equipment (electrical utility meter, main panel, disconnect switches, sub-panels, generators, etc.).

Technical Skills:

Work with various devices including aerial drones and solar photography devices.

Capture Roof Details:

Take both interior and exterior pictures of the roof, using a ladder to access attic space as needed.

Data Entry:

Update our project management software regularly and provide team members with insights into specific questions. Conduct thorough site assessments for potential solar installations, including rooftop and ground-mounted systems. Measure and document site conditions such as roof dimensions, shading, electrical infrastructure, and structural integrity. Use tools and technology to capture accurate site data. Collaborate with the engineering and design teams to provide detailed site reports and recommendations. Communicate with clients to understand their energy needs and provide them with preliminary system designs and proposals. Ensure all assessments comply with local regulations, safety standards, and company policies. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of solar industry trends, products, and technologies.

Required Qualifications



High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. Proven experience in site assessment, construction, or a related field. Proficiency in using the Canadian Electrical Code and various project management software. Proficiency with site assessment tools and software (e.g., GPS, drones, solar pathfinders). Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Class 5 or 7 driver's license and access to a vehicle with a clean driver's abstract.

Preferred Qualifications



Experience with CAD software or other design tools. Familiarity with local building codes and regulations. Previous experience in the solar power industry. Electrical experience or electrical apprentice preferred. Applicants with their Pilot Certificate - in Advanced Operations will be highly considered.

Working Conditions



Location:

Based at our office in Kamloops, BC.

Hours of Work:

Typically Monday to Friday, with standard working hours from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.(This could be subject to change.)

Wage:

Starting wage ranging from $20 to $22 an hour, with room to grow. Travel to various site locations is required. Company provides necessary tools and equipment for site assessments. Training is also provided.
