Position Description:

Sunergy Solar is a leading clean-tech solutions installation company with a strong focus on providing commercial and residential solar solutions. We are looking for a highly motivated mechanical installer to join our team. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working outdoors year-round, working at heights on residential or commercial rooftops, and must be proficient in using hand tools. The work conditions include repetitive tasks, handling moderately heavy loads, and are physically demanding.

Please note: these positions are for the Ottawa Area*

Responsibilities:

You must be able to lift 54lbs or more repeatedly throughout the day. You must be experienced at, and certified for working at heights and fall arrest. Prepare worksite and materials under the supervision of the Construction Manager. Assemble and install mechanical system components. Install Solar PV system components and DC strings. Provide progress reports and checklists to Team Lead as required.

Qualifications:

Mechanical skills are essential, and some hydraulic or electrical skills are an asset Working at Heights Certification Experience working safely on pitched roofs Previous experience in construction, roofing, landscaping or similar labor-intensive work environment The ability to work in a fast-paced environment Good organizational and time management skills The ability to read schematic drawings is an asset Must have a valid driver's license Willing to travel regularly, including overnight (travel expenses paid by employer) Involves labour-intensive, physically demanding work, therefore the ability to lift and carry safely is essential WHMIS certification (preferred)

Job functions:

Follows direction from foreman/construction manager Ability to use proper tools to accomplish tasks Works alongside other colleagues to complete tasks Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.

Typical Duties:

Load, unload, and transport construction materials to the job site (as required); Install ballasted rooftop racking systems according to plan & quality manual; Install foundation for ground-mount systems according to plan & quality manual; Install Roof anchors on sloped or flat roofs according to plan & quality manual; Install Inverters and Solar Panels according to plan & quality manual; Complete site checks and cleanup at the conclusion of each day.
