Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Design electrical single line diagrams and installation details for solar PV systems using AutoCAD.
Prepare solar PV feasibility studies.
Model electrical systems including grounding, load flow, short-circuit, and arc-flash analysis.
Prepare/create construction documentation for the installation of new and/or existing PV systems.
Developing the creation of equipment specifications.
Engage in meetings with clients, contractors, and other consultants regarding project reports and findings.
Provide expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems.
Create technical reports, documentation, calculations, and sketches.
Perform calculations, create specifications, and equipment selection.

Qualifications and Requirements

Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, industrial engineering, computer software engineering or similar required.
Engineer in Training (EIT) or Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) an asset.
5+ years of experience working within the renewable energy or energy storage industry.
Knowledge of the OBC, electrical code, CSA, ULC, ESA, IEEE, and IES standards.
Software experience utilizing SKM, AmpCalc, PVSyst, Power Tools, ETAP, Helioscope, AutoCAD, or similar.
Previous experience in solar energy, wind energy, microgrid power systems and power electronics an asset.
Knowledge of green building certifications, including LEED and Zero Carbon Building an asset.
Familiarity with policies, standards, guidelines, rules, and regulations applicable to North American energy markets as well as other jurisdictions.
Knowledge of NERC guidelines, IESO Market Rules an asset.
Programming experience using MATLAB, Python, and VBA an asset.
Ability to meet deadlines / successful completion of deliverables.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure on various tasks
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Effective verbal and written communication skills
