About Orennia \xe2\x80\x9cThe impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way.\xe2\x80\x9d
  • Marcus Aurelius

There are very few times in history where society has faced a critical test that forced us to align around a common objective. We are confronting such a moment today: the fight against climate change. Reducing CO2 emissions is the primary (and perhaps sole) solution. A transition to renewable electricity and zero-carbon energy is what stands in the way in reducing CO2 emissions. At Orennia, we believe what stands in the way becomes the way.
2022 saw the most investments ever in new wind and solar projects. As America de-carbonizes its energy stack, the annual investment in new power generation is expected to double by 2030.
With trillions in capital needing to be deployed, Orennia helps investors make more informed decisions using data, analytics, and machine learning/artificial intelligence.
Why Join Orennia?
At Orennia, you will become part of a collaborative culture and do work that matters. As a company in the renewable energy industry, we believe that a diversity of perspectives generates better solutions. We trust and support each other, ask hard questions and solve complex problems. Guided by a spirit of inquiry, we design for people at every scale, creating spaces that elevate individuals, their communities, and the institutions that serve them.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on position that will require roll-up the sleeves execution. You will be joining a team that moves fast and wears many hats, working closely with our Marketing Manager, Analyst team and Chief Commercial Officer.
As a Senior Graphic Designer, your role will be to transform concepts and ideas into visually appealing designs across various mediums. You will collaborate with teams across the company to understand their design requirements and create effective communication that resonates with the target audience. Your expertise in UX design will be instrumental in creating designs that not only look great but provide a seamless user experience. This role is a hybrid role - 4 days in the Calgary office and 1 flex day a week. Please include professional work samples or a link to your portfolio as part of your application.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Manager, CCO and CEO to conceptualize and execute design solutions that meet business objectives while maintaining brand consistency.
  • Translate strategic direction into high-quality design within an established brand identity.
  • Develop and maintain a graphics template for our research reports, working with the Analyst and Editor team.
  • Design and develop visual concepts, graphics, and layouts for various marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, social media graphics, and website designs.
  • Develop and maintain design guidelines, style guides, and templates to ensure consistent brand identity across all communication channels.
  • Develop wireframes, prototypes, and design layouts for websites, mobile apps, and other digital products with a focus on UX design.
  • As a member of an agile Marketing team, you will also engage with a broader range of initiatives beyond graphic design as required.

Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience in user experience and interactive visual design in complex web applications.
  • Relevant post-secondary education in graphic design.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking, familiarity with multimedia and execution of design that you can share with us.
  • Experienced with emerging creative technologies and other platforms (Salesforce experience an asset).
  • Experience with UX design, including creating wireframes, prototypes, and design layouts for digital products such as websites and mobile apps.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with different teams and stakeholders to understand their design requirements and create effective communication.

We thank all applicants in advance for their interest in our organization and for taking the time to apply; however, only applicants invited for an interview will be contacted.
