Division Specific Information/ Location
Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division (CMD) serves customers in various markets and applications from environmental and food safety analysis to forensic science and toxicology. Position can be based remotely in the US/Canada/Puerto Rico.
How you will make an impact?
With your strong troubleshooting, critical thinking, and social skills, you will support our customers in their use of our Chromatography Data System (CDS) and Mass Spectrometry (MS) Software. You will be part of our Software Support function collaborating with other team members to support internal and external customers by resolving issues together. What you will do?
  • Act as the initial point of contact for customer support requests
  • Help customers make the most out of their software deployments
  • Develop collaborative relationships with our customers
  • Visit customers for on-site relationship building or troubleshooting
  • Serve as a customer advocate to identify mutually beneficial resolutions for us and the customer
  • Build working relationships with other departments of Thermo Fisher Scientific, particularly within the Software Development and Product teams
  • Proactively learn new technologies and supported products
How you will get here: Education Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Life Sciences or related discipline is preferred
Experience
  • 3+ years of software technical support or hands on experience with Chromatography Data System and Mass Spec Software such as Xcalibur, Chromeleon, Proteome Discoverer, Compound Discover, etc.
  • Experience with suite of MS software products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Prior experience collaborating with multiple teams and effectively expressing and exchanging ideas, concepts, and designs in a group setting
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Understanding of Cloud Deployments and Database Management is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server, Win 7, Win 10
  • Knowledge of chromatography instrumentation and its usage in an industrial laboratory setting is advantageous
  • Committed to customer allegiance
  • Ability to collaborate closely with people at all levels, from technical experts to novice users
  • Organized with the ability to prioritize workload
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally up to 20% of the time
