This is a role well suited for a highly motivated student looking to build their skill set and gain hands-on experience. As a Software Quality Assurance Specialist Co-op, you will be responsible for:
Assist in Analyzing COTS (Commercial Off-The-Shelf) software
Perform test execution for various projects (internal and external tools)
Create test case libraries and tests cases based on product requirements
Execute test plans and creates Software Tools Validation Report (STVR)
Verify defect fixes
Script automated testcases in Python
Assist SQA team in testing of Epocal products
Hardware and/or Software testing to assist other Epocal development teams
Document anomalies and maintains database for tracking defects and historical analysis
Maintain test equipment and test environments Developing software Test Plans and Test Cases for the medical industry demands and activities specific to a regulatory environment
Embedded, Android and Windows Mobile OS based PDAs, and desktop application environments (PocketPC, PC, potentially others)

Required skills to have for the success of this role:
Currently enrolled in Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering or related discipline and/or an equivalent combination of education and technical experience
Several semesters of related experience
Medical environment experience is preferred. Successful candidate will be trained in software lifecycle development activities
Some knowledge/experience with testing approaches and methodologies
Knowledge/experience with Python
Well organized work habits with attention to detail
Good written communication skills
Self-directed time and task management
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively based on the application that is being validated
The pay range for this position is $20-$32 hourly; however, base pay offered may vary depending on education, skills, and experience. Siemens Healthineers offers interns paid time off.
