Job Description

We're looking for a

hands-on technical leader

to guide, mentor, and grow our software development team.
You'll lead by example -- building and reviewing code, designing scalable systems, and cultivating a high-performing engineering culture rooted in trust, collaboration, and craftsmanship.

As a key member of our leadership team, you'll help shape the architecture and development practices that power ModernAdvisor's next generation of fintech solutions -- from our automated investing platform to new advisor-driven digital products.

What You'll Do

Lead, coach, and expand a talented team of full-stack developers Design, write, and review maintainable, testable, and performant code Improve and document our

Agile

development and release processes Drive technical architecture discussions -- from microservices to infrastructure design Define metrics and OKRs to track productivity, quality, and delivery Conduct performance reviews, career coaching, and skill development programs Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Operations, and Design teams Stay current with emerging technologies and lead adoption of relevant tools Contribute to DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and AWS infrastructure

About You

10+ years of professional software development experience Proven track record in

technical team leadership

or engineering management Deep knowledge of

Agile

,

TDD

, and

DDD

methodologies Proficiency in

Ruby on Rails

and

Angular

(or strong comparable experience) Strong background in system architecture and microservice design Experience building cloud-native applications and pipelines on

AWS

Excellent communicator -- able to bridge business and technical audiences Leadership style grounded in trust, empathy, and leading by example Quick learner with a passion for mentoring and continuous improvement
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $94,444.28-$157,807.68 per year
