The Ottawa office is focused on R&D. It has roughly 60 interns employed there.
The Indoor Radio software development team is responsible for developing and maintaining the software powering the Radio Dot System (RDS) product family and for other Indoor Radio products. RDS is an innovative solution offering improved cellular coverage for all RAN variants (GSM, WCDMA, LTE, and 5G) inside buildings seamlessly with the traditional outdoor cell sites.
Our software designers contribute to all aspects of the software development cycle, including analysis, design, coding, manual and automated testing, integration, and maintenance. They also work hands-on with the equipment in the lab.
We collaborate closely with other functional teams such Systems, Hardware, and Integration & Verifications. We use Agile in the form of a customized Scrumban methodology. We are organized in software cross-functional teams that include capability and competence in all aspects of software development. We continuously adapt to change in business and product priorities, technology, ways of working, and organizational structure.
Our work assignments are driven by our product backlog and cover a combination of: developing new features (including systemization, design, coding), preparing and executing manual test and integration activities, automating tests, performing troubleshooting and defect resolution, writing documentation.
Our coop students are an integral part of our teams and they typically take on similar assignments as our regular employees, subject to product backlog and project timelines. Coop assignments are scaled according to their experience, qualification, performance, and motivation.
You will learn a lot about all aspects of developing software for a carrier-grade real-time embedded product that powers the modern telecommunication infrastructure. You will gain experience in using a combination of third-party commercial, open source, and in-house proprietary development tools. You will learn skills and best practices from your teammates and via self-learning initiatives. We also offer regular learning sessions dedicated to topics requested by our employees.
