The Family Support & Navigation social worker will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that provides support, programs and services to families throughout Cumberland County. This term is covering a maternity leave. Among the duties/role of the social worker are the following:
Short term counseling with families and individuals
Coaching/mentoring in areas such as parenting, life skills, personal development
Navigation/Coordination - link families with other supports and services as needed
Group facilitation and workshop planning
Youth engagement programming
Family support and advocacy
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Social Work
Registration (or eligibility) with the N.S. College of Social Workers
Ability to work competently and cooperatively in a non-judgmental manner with families, co-workers and other community agencies
Strong verbal/written communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability and willingness to meet challenges and adapt to changing situations
Knowledge/experience in assessment and planning with individuals and families
Knowledge of community development and collaboration
Valid driver's license, access to reliable transportation and eligible 2 million liability insurance with rider clause.
Mostly in-person, some work from home available

Pay: $48,558.00-$55,721.00 per year
