Family Support, Navigation, and Intervention Support Program Coordinator


Full-time position. Generous vacation & holiday package. Health & dental benefits and RRSP available.
Compensation begins at a rate of $26.68 per hour for 35 hours per week.

Navigation/Coordination: Linking families with other community supports and services as identified; completing needs assessments and referrals to ensure families are supported holistically. Identifying family/individual needs and assisting in goal-setting and capacity building in a professional setting.

Family Coaching/Mentoring: Providing parents/caregivers with resources and information on areas such as parenting, life skills, and personal development; Connecting individuals with most appropriate services, both within Maggie's Place and to outside organizations through referrals and navigation.

Program Planning: Design and deliver a variety of programming geared toward children, youth, adults, and families in collaboration with team members, community members, and partner agencies; Help to plan and prepare healthy snacks following dietary guidelines and food safety standards; Participate in community events.

Family Engagement & Community Building: Build trusting, respectful relationships with families; create a welcoming and inclusive environment that encourages parent/guardian participation, connection, and access to community resources.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members, other teams within Maggie's Place, and community partner organizations to plan, promote, and evaluate high-quality programming based on identified needs that are aligned with centre values, goals, and best practices; Provide supervisory support to designated team members and contributing to the managerial team within Maggie's Place as required

Bachelor Degree of Social Work or Bachelor Degree in another related field with relevant experience; Registration with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers an asset

Openness to working with, and experience facilitating for children, youth, and their families in a community-based setting

Knowledge/experience in assessment and planning with individuals and families

Knowledge of the complex situations and barriers that children, youth, and families face in rural communities; Ability to navigate resources to meet challenges identified by families

Excellent communication (verbal & written), organizational, and relationship-building skills; Experience with grant & report writing an asset

Willing to work flexible hours (occasional evenings, Saturdays)

Valid First Aid/CPR & Food Handler courses (or willingness to obtain)

Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle with a $2 million insurance policy
