Main Purpose and Function
The Social Planning Analysts work independently and as part of multiple teams within Social Policy to support and advance social plans, projects and initiatives that contribute to a healthy, equitable, sustainable and resilient city for all. These roles act as a leader within the division in practicing research, engagement, data analysis, data visualization, policy analysis, evaluation and communications.
The Social Planning Analysts undertakes a portfolio of work supporting the research and data needs of other teams in Social Policy and works collaboratively with staff leading and working on these teams, while also advancing division-wide priorities and identifying opportunities to streamline and support work across multiple portfolios.
These positions contribute to policy goals outlined in the Healthy City Strategy, Vancouver\xe2\x80\x99s social sustainability plan. These are achieved by addressing and reducing inequities that negatively impact the social determinants of health, such as racism, stigmatization, poverty, isolation, and gaps in basic needs; while also building on community strengths and assets such as belonging, connection, safety, engagement, and access to services.
