Social Media Specialist

We are seeking an energetic, creative and analytic social media genius to take our social program to new levels. The position is mostly remote, with a home base in Kitchener Ontario. This is a contract role from January 1-December 31, 2023, with a strong possibility to move to permanent.

Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Director, you will work autonomously, managing our social media feeds, analyzing engagement and trends, optimizing formats through test and learn, and strategically building relationships and audiences.

As a critical part of our storytelling team, you will help manage the content calendar, create original content for our campaigns and champion the brand. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as Talent Acquisition, Human Resources, Patient Care and Operations and our Clinical Education teams.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Our ideal candidate will have solid experience in marketing, social media, digital advertising, design, communications, video, and have a strong understanding of SEO, tracking, analytics and metrics. You have an appetite for continuous improvement and you embrace technology to find solutions. Our current platforms include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Google, Glassdoor and Indeed. Primary duties and responsibilities include:
  • Daily monitoring and engagement on all channels
  • Designs original art, photography, reels, video and written content
  • Collaborates with the team to plan the overall Communications content calendar
  • Reports on growth and engagement targets and identifies areas for improvement
  • Plans and collaborates with internal stakeholders for branch/corporate campaigns
  • Tracks competitor trends and activity
  • Manages digital PR, marketing, events and advertising campaigns and uses sophisticated analysis, testing and tracking to monitor effectiveness.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or grad certificate in marketing, communications, or related field
  • 2 - 3 years of experience in progressive social/marketing roles with a deep knowledge of the latest social media features, trends, and engagement strategies
  • Deep knowledge of established and emerging platforms and standards of practice
  • Proven experience optimizing company social channels with organic and paid campaigns
  • Relevant experience determining and reaching target audiences-geographically and demographically
  • Experience analyzing key metrics for content performance
  • Proficiency with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Google, Glassdoor, Indeed, MailChimp, Google Analytics & AdWords, Hootsuite, Canva, WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite and Excel.
