Read Alberta Social Media Specialist Location: Calgary (hybrid) or Alberta (work from home). Applicants must be Alberta residents. About the role: The Read Alberta Social Media Specialist is responsible for the communications and social media marketing of a collaborative initiative promoting Alberta\xe2\x80\x99s magazine and book publishing sectors through https://readalberta.ca/. A joint project between the Book Publishers Association of Alberta (BPAA) and the Alberta Magazine Publishers Association (AMPA), the person in this role will lead content marketing strategies. The successful candidate is a storyteller who will excel at increasing the discoverability of the province\xe2\x80\x99s publishing sector with communities of readers. You\xe2\x80\x99ll take the lead in planning and managing social media campaigns, increasing SEO and extending our reach including: - Building and maintaining a social media calendar (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) - Researching and recommending ways to fill gaps in marketing strategy - Working with our small content-creation team Qualifications: - University or College degree or diploma in digital marketing - Social media tool competency - Nice to have: an interest in magazine media and building community About us
The Alberta Magazine Publishers Association (AMPA) sustains a healthy and thriving magazine industry by serving the people who publish, create, print and distribute an uniquely Albertan view of the world. We\xe2\x80\x99re a classroom, a forum, a newsletter, an advocate and a united voice for magazine publishers in the province. Since 1997, we\xe2\x80\x99ve supported Alberta magazines through promotion, advancement, and practical programs that foster professional development and industry growth. The Book Publishers Association of Alberta was founded in 1975 to support the development of a thriving provincial publishing industry, away from Canada\xe2\x80\x99s traditional book publishing centres. Today one of the strongest communities of regional publishers in North America, the BPAA counts over 30 members companies. The BPAA supports the industry through advocacy, professional and trade development, among other member programs. Part-time, contract (approx.10 hours/week) $22/hour. Location:
This position is either work from home or hybrid, depending on your Alberta location. Our offices are located in the beautiful cSPACE building, in SW Calgary. Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
