Summary:


The

Social Media & Marketing Assistant

plays a key role in supporting the digital marketing efforts at Bradford Greenhouses Garden Gallery. This position is primarily responsible for reviewing digital flyers/dockets and assisting in the filming, directing, and editing of video and audio content. The Assistant will help prepare sets and locations for shoots, operate cameras and audio equipment, and capture high-quality video, audio, and still photography.
In addition, the role involves researching content topics and creatively planning how best to present material for Garden Gallery's digital platforms. The Assistant will support the analysis of marketing campaigns and advertisements, helping to identify areas of success and opportunities for growth. This includes compiling reports and developing presentations to inform future marketing strategies.
The SM&M Assistant will also assist the Event and Marketing Supervisor in the design, promotion, and social media creation of Bradford Greenhouses' events. Responsibilities include identifying advertising needs, creating strategic marketing plans, promoting activities and events, and maintaining strong media relations.
Working closely with the Communications Team, the Assistant will help manage the company's public image by contributing to media and public relations strategies. This includes supporting internal and external communications across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and more.
Other duties may be assigned as required to support the ongoing success of the marketing and events teams.

Job Duties:

Marketing:

+ Assist with filming, directing, and editing video assignments as directed by Bradford Greenhouses.
+ Assist in preparing sets/locations for filming, including camera positioning, assembling recording equipment, addressing lighting and audio needs, placement of props, including still photography, etc.
+ Operate cameras and other assistive recording devices to capture content suitable for assigned film topics.
+ Creatively utilize different videography methods/techniques to analyze different filming options to enhance the content of videos.
+ Assist in directing person(s) involved with the filmmaking process, and still photography, including subjects of video, actors, and personnel assisting in the filmmaking process.
+ Provide help in researching information pertaining to film assignments to ensure quality and authenticity of video content.
+ Assist with editing footage, applying appropriate sequencing/cinematography, effects, and audio overdubbing as necessary.
+ Assist in developing strategies and goals for campaigns.
+ Act as the contact person for clients; help them troubleshoot any problems or concerns.
+ Remain current on internet marketing techniques, trends, and best practices.
+ Create and log video and editorial content for DIY videos.
+ Edit Progreen eblast.
+ Request and schedule road signs from the Web Developer for both retail locations weekly.
+ Assist the Marketing Manager with photoshoots and other tasks as assigned.
+ Print and distribute sale and promotional signage/stickers as required.

Social Media:

+ Responsible for creating engaging and informative blog content, specifically tailored for Pinterest, to increase brand visibility and audience engagement. This includes crafting creative, keyword-optimized posts and curating visually appealing pins to drive traffic and boost online presence.
+ Create, edit, and publish high-quality videos that align with brand goals. This includes brainstorming content ideas, filming, editing, and optimizing video titles, descriptions, and tags to increase viewership and subscriber growth.
+ Oversee the creation and distribution of the weekly newsletter (eblasts), including highlighting daily deals, promotions, and updates on Bloom + other eblasts
+ Ensure regular visits to both store locations to gather content for digital and social media platforms. This includes capturing photos, videos, and other visual content that accurately represent the brand and its products.
+ Analyze performance metrics from social media campaigns to evaluate effectiveness, identify trends, and inform future marketing strategies across social media platforms.
+ Actively participate in and cover events, ensuring the audience is kept informed in real-time. This includes live updates via social media, blog posts, and other platforms, ensuring that customers and followers are always aware of what's happening at either location.
+ Work closely with the JUMP team to develop and execute content strategies as dispersed among all Garden Galleries.
+ Collaborate with shareholders to ensure that all content is accurate, up-to-date, and aligns with company goals. Maintain a high standard of content quality, ensuring consistency and brand integrity across all platforms.
+ Assist Wholesale with content creation as required

Events:

+ Assist Event and Marketing Supervisor and/or Event Assistant with the preparation of upcoming events, including but not limited to research and marketing campaigns.
+ Assist with creating marketing campaigns, themes, and promotion of events.
Manage Pro-Green program. Maintain continual communication with the supervisor to ensure alignment on goals, share progress updates, and incorporate feedback into ongoing projects. Conduct work in a professional and efficient manner. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

(1) year of experience in interactive marketing with specific experience in pay-per-click or SEO, and social media marketing. (1) year of experience in videography is an asset. Degree/Diploma in Marketing/Advertisement, filmmaking, photography or a related program. Strong understanding of internet marketing principles and practices. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Experience using a variety of search engine marketing tools, including, but not limited to, Google Analytics, Marin, Omniture, etc. Computer literacy, including effective working skills such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop and e-mail is required. Creative use of camera angles, set locations and visual props. Able to meet deadlines under stress and interruptions. Ability to problem solve, follow through and complete overlapping projects. High attention to detail and quality standards. Excellent writing skills and experience writing marketing scripts. A university degree or college diploma in Business Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, English or a related discipline. Strong working knowledge of communication principles and practices. Minimum of 5-8 years' experience in Communications and/or Media Relations experience required. Must possess excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with strong writing and editorial abilities. Demonstrated success with Social Media tools such as Facebook, YouTube and others. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, internet, wire services, media monitoring software, and other public relations tools. Must possess strong project management and organizational skills. Must be able to meet tight deadlines and execute flawlessly on projects in a fast-paced, often pressured environment and see a project through to completion. Must have the ability to be an influential communications consultant within the organization. Must have the ability to work effectively in a team. Must be capable of maintaining confidentiality, with a high level of accuracy regarding information. * The ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders and work effectively with all levels of employees is critical.
