PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES & POSITION PURPOSE: Manages and coordinates social media activities that promote revenue growth generation and supports the hotel\xe2\x80\x99s brand positioning and image. Leverages and executes social media strategies in partnership with Sales Manager, General Manager and Executive Director of Sales and Marketing and hotel teams to achieve brand positioning. Cultivates and maintains media relationships to promote brand and property awareness. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Average Percent of Time 50 % Collaborates with Hotel Management, Executive Director of Sales and Marketing on the development and execution of Social Media, Public Relations strategies to drive revenue through the use media relations (print, TV, internet and radio) and social media. Collaborates with and leverages Hilton and Doubletree regional and national PR resources. Maintains press materials and media site. Maintains hotels\xe2\x80\x99 social media channels to promote greater customer engagement and to promote special rates, special events and property announcements. Responds to guest requests and feedback on property blogs and social media channels. 30 % Cultivates and maintains strong, positive media relationships on a national, regional and local level through personalized pitches, face-to-face meetings and familiarization tours. Primary liaison for social media, bloggers. Directly handle media requests, including developing pitch materials and providing media interview support. Develops compelling ideas for pitching stories to media. 15 % Works collaboratively with key internal teams to develop and promote special events to drive local and leisure business to the hotels. Develop promotions that are quirky and eye-catching. 5 % Write and distribute press releases; liaison with reporters & media outlets; proactive placement of stories with local/regional/national media outlets. Monitor press coverage and maintain media clip book. SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company. \xc2\xb7 Coordinates with Corporate PR Team. \xc2\xb7 Collaborate with Brand, PR, Marketing teams on new initiatives. \xc2\xb7 Assists in promoting positive community relationships. \xc2\xb7 Assists internal departments with PR and social media activities. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Frequency Key: Rare - up to 1 hour, Occasional - 1-3 hours, Frequent - 3-6 hours, Constant - 6-8 hours SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY: \xc2\xb7 The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. \xc2\xb7 Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to clearly and concisely express ideas. \xc2\xb7 Must be able to clearly communicate in English, excellent interpersonal communication skills that build trust and instill confidence. \xc2\xb7 Proficient in Word and PowerPoint, Graphics, Adobe Photoshop, Concept creation, editing \xc2\xb7 Demonstrated proficiency in social media site management. \xc2\xb7 Must be able to remain calm and focused during periods of high stress. \xc2\xb7 Ability to effectively deal with hotel ownership, corporate Director of Sales and Marketing, guests, team members, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy. \xc2\xb7 Ability to manage multiple projects, meet and work effectively with time and resources. \xc2\xb7 Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team. \xc2\xb7 Ability to delegate, manage and organize projects and establish priorities consistent with department, hotel, brand objectives. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION High School Diploma required Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree preferred in communications, journalism or marketing EXPERIENCE Previous Media Relations experience Social Media site management experience At least 3 years of previous Public Relations managerial experience. Prefer candidates with hotel/hospitality industry experience. LICENSES OR CERTIFICATION: Preferred College Diploma or University Degree related to Social Media Management or Data Communication Degree. GROOMING: All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. Specific uniform guidelines and required articles of clothing will be explained to you as a part of the orientation process. OTHER: The hospitality business functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four hours a day. In addition, this is a hospitality business, and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times. \xc2\xb7 Sitting, Walking, Climbing stairs \xe2\x80\x93 Frequent \xc2\xb7 Crouching, Bending, Stooping, Reaching, Pushing, Pulling - Occasional \xc2\xb7 Lifting, Carrying (15 lbs) - Rare \xc2\xb7 Travel - Occasional as requested by Management OTHER DUTIES \xc2\xb7 Assimilate into the Hilton and Doubletree CARE culture through understanding, supporting and participating in all elements of CARE. \xc2\xb7 Demonstrate working knowledge of the service standards. \xc2\xb7 Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Hilton from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. SAFETY REQUIREMENTS: \xc2\xb7 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when performing work duties that may have the potential of risk to your health or safety. Job Type: Part-time
