Based in Winnipeg, Manitoba U Multicultural Inc. is a nonprofit organization that builds TV and digital media platform to empower ethnocultural communities. We operate on the principle of inspiring local action, multiculturalism and diversity.
U Multicultural has several projects in motion, including the series of television programs available on TV in Canada coast to coast and digitally, documentaries and other media projects related to ethnocultural community of Canada.

Position Overview
The Social Media and Marketing Specialist will be working on the multiple media projects about ethocultural communities of Manitoba and Canada. The candidate will be in contact with ethnic organizations to create new projects and promote their values digitally and on TV through U Multicultural media platform.
Social Media and Marketing Specialist will work with the Founder and Producer to create and execute the Marketing and Community Engagement plan.
The Things You Love Doing
Reporting to the Producer and Founder, the Social Media and Marketing Specialist is responsible for the following:
Implement and execute marketing and public relations plan
Manage ongoing online marketing strategies through social media accounts, email, website, etc.
Create marketing materials and posts for the social media, ensuring that they are consistent with planned marketing strategies and goals
Coordinate the development, and develop advertising material, media releases both online and offline
Advise on and implement advertising strategies, including print, video, and overall messaging
Identify and develop strategic partnerships with traditional and non-traditional media outlets
Manage the translation of marketing materials to relevant target communities
Manage outreach events, including but not limited to lunch-and-learns, immigrant fairs and community events
Write content such as blog posts related to the platform
Coordinate press releases and setup interviews for the Founder and board of directors
Measure and report on impact and outcomes of marketing activities and campaigns
Organize the video recording session with ethnocultural organizations
The Things You Bring To Us
A degree, or currently pursuing a degree, in Marketing, Business, Communications, Public Relations, or related field
1-2 years of experience in a similar role
Demonstrate exceptional writing and editing skills
Experience with community outreach and working with stakeholders
Comfortable speaking in public and representing an organization in a positive manner
Knowledgeable about online technology; experience with Google Drive, Youtube, Instagram, Facebook, Word Press and Twitter are assets
Passionate to learn about barriers faced by newcomers to Canada; past experience working in nonprofit or community organization is an asset
Comfortable adapting to a constantly changing work environment
Creative and analytical thinker
Familiar with content marketing and social media marketing tools
Familiar with content management systems
Experience working with volunteers and/or creative teams
Takes initiative and can start and complete tasks with basic direction
Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines
Strong research, verbal and visual communication skills
