POSITION: Social Media and Events Volunteer
PROGRAM: Outreach and Development
REPORTS TO: Outreach and Development Manager
WORK HOURS: 10 hours/week (Hybrid) DBNC is an accredited, non-profit organization providing support services to residents of Mississauga including newcomers to Canada, youth, seniors, and families. JOB SUMMARY: We are in search of a creative innovator with a passion for digital content development and online engagement to join our team as an Social Media and Events Volunteer. This position is responsible for the creation of engaging web and social content to support our digital marketing and outreach campaigns. The Social Media and Events Volunteer is also responsible for building our brand with clients, donors, and partners through powerful text, image, and video content that drives online and offline engagement. This role will also require events assistance on an ad hoc basis. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of digital media innovations, technology, and digital trends
  • Understanding of the social media and digital landscape in the non-profit sector
  • Create content daily for DBNC\'s social media channels (Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIN, Facebook)
  • Develop content for integrated web and social media campaigns that increase client engagement and partner development
  • Develop opportunities for partnerships with community stakeholders
  • Participate in media and client events for content creation
  • Educate our teams on new platforms, strategies, and best practices to support our digital media strategy
  • Track and evaluate digital media analytics through relative and quantitative reporting
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 1 year experience in a creative or digital agency environment
  • Education in Communications, Advertising, Public Relations, or Marketing preferred
  • Proven experience developing web and social media content
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing dynamic web content
  • Comprehensive understanding of Social media advertising and content best practices across Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram.
  • Ability to liaise with clients, donors, and stakeholders in-person in a professional manner
  • Team player, able to collaborate and communicate with management
  • Working knowledge of Hootsuite and Canva
  • Strong creative background and ability to create engaging content (text, image, and video) \xe2\x80\x93 graphic design and video editing skills are a bonus
  • Understanding of SEO and Google Analytics is an asset
  • Understanding of DEI principles
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
  • The successful candidate must have a valid Police Record Check
