Compensation: $18-24/hr

The Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) is looking for a Social Media intern to join a team committed to protecting our most important natural areas and the plants and animals they sustain. Duties and Responsibilities The social media marketing intern is responsible for the creation and curation of social media content for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn and TikTok, aligned with marketing strategies to grow NCC’s community and increase engagement of our supporters. As part of the national Marketing and Development team at NCC, the social media marketing intern will apply best practices and champion NCC’s brand while collaborating with internal stakeholders to build and schedule social media calendars. The intern is also responsible for using social media tools and platforms to provide reports, insights, and recommendations. As a brand champion, they will maintain and grow NCC’s social community and positively respond to social questions and comments. Creative knowledge and skills are also required as the role designs graphic assets for use on social media platforms. Required Skills and Attributes

  • Relevant education in Marketing, New media, Visual Communications, Public Relations, or relevant field
  • 1-2 years of experience and a proven track record in the field of social media
  • Expertise in multiple social media platforms and listening tools
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bilingualism an asset
  • Collaborative attitude with ability to build online and offline relationships
  • Ability to deliver and adapt creative content
  • Familiarity with online marketing strategies and marketing channels
  • Background in Graphic Design is essential (Adobe Suite: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
  • Knowledge of video creation and post-production using Adobe Premiere Pro and optimizing for different social channels such as TikTok, IG Reels and YouTube.
