EDPS Property Services provides year-round property maintenance services to property management firms, commercial and industrial property owners, condominium managers and even single family residential home owners.

EDPS Property Services provides commercial and industrial snow-clearing services in this Greater Toronto Area. We are looking to add individuals to our sidewalk snow-clearing teams.

As a member of a sidewalk clearing team you will perform removal of snow from the sidewalk of commercial and industrial properties using; Snowblowers, Shovels, or Sidewalk Tractors in order to provide our customers with safe access to their facility

Responsibilities:

Lead, motivate, and manage a team of Sidewalk Crew members, including assigning specific tasks, monitoring productivity, and enforcing adherence to all company procedures and EDPS standards. Conduct pre-shift briefings and post-event debriefings, documenting findings and implementing continuous operational improvements for sidewalk routes and procedures. Train new crew members on the safe operation and maintenance of all pedestrian equipment (e.g., walk-behind snow blowers, push brooms, rotary spreaders). Perform and supervise the complete snow and ice removal process for sidewalks, entryways, stairs, doors, and curblines. Apply salt and deicers using rotary spreaders and ensure all serviced areas meet or exceed customer contract specifications and quality standards. Conduct thorough pre- and post-service site inspections to confirm the quality of work and compliance with all contract and company standards. Enforce all company safety protocols and health regulations, including proper personal protective equipment (PPE) use. Ensure all equipment (walk-behind snow blowers, spreaders, etc.) is properly used, maintained, and cared for at all times. Complete and submit all required documentation accurately and promptly, including pre-shift inspection reports, service checklists, time-sheets, and post-event incident reports. Report for all shifts fit for duty, strictly adhering to company policy regarding impairment from drugs, alcohol, or medications. Serve as the primary on-site contact for customers, politely and professionally addressing concerns and immediately escalating major issues to the Operations Manager. Maintain 24/7 on-call availability throughout the entire winter season (including weekends and holidays), prepared to respond to dispatch calls with a maximum one-hour arrival notice.
Requirements:

Minimum one (1) year of supervisory experience managing small work crews, preferably in a logistics or outdoor service environment. Valid G-class Driver's License and a Clean Driving Abstract Must possess reliable personal transportation to and from the dispatch site, which is not accessible by public transit. Must be physically capable of heavy labor, including lifting and maneuvering equipment weighing 50 pounds or more. Required to work non-traditional hours, including extended and overnight shifts, immediately following the start of a snow event. Must own and utilize a functional mobile phone for mandatory dispatch and safety communications. Proven ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and maintain professional conduct under high-pressure, time-sensitive conditions.
