We are seeking a skilled Snow Plow Operator to efficiently clear snow and ice from designated roadways, parking lots, and walkways during winter months. The ideal candidate will have experience operating snow removal equipment and possess mechanical knowledge to ensure safe and effective operation. This role is essential for maintaining safe access for residents, customers, and staff during inclement weather conditions. The Snow Plow Operator will also assist with related maintenance tasks involving landscaping, gardening, and general site upkeep as needed.
Responsibilities
Operate snow plow trucks and related equipment to remove snow and ice from roads, parking lots, sidewalks, and other designated areas.
Conduct pre-operation inspections of plow vehicles and equipment to ensure safety and proper functioning.
Apply salt or de-icing materials as necessary to prevent ice accumulation.
Perform routine maintenance on snow removal equipment, including mechanical repairs or adjustments using hand tools or power tools.
Assist with landscaping, gardening, irrigation, or horticulture tasks during off-season periods to support overall site maintenance.
Utilize various hand tools and power tools for general maintenance and construction-related tasks around the property.
Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or injuries during snow removal operations.
Communicate effectively with team members regarding work progress and any operational issues encountered.
Qualifications
Prior experience operating snow plow trucks or similar heavy equipment preferred.
Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and repair is a plus.
Familiarity with construction, landscape maintenance, horticulture, irrigation systems, and general site upkeep is desirable.
Ability to work in cold weather conditions for extended periods during winter storms.
Strong attention to safety procedures and ability to follow detailed instructions.
Physical ability to perform manual tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for long durations.
Valid driver's license required; commercial driver's license (CDL) is a plus but not mandatory.
Experience with hand tools, power tools, excavators, or other construction equipment is advantageous but not essential.
