Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Snow Plow Operator to efficiently clear snow and ice from designated roadways, parking lots, and walkways during winter months.

THIS POSITION IS 50/50 Operator/Labourer, MUST be able to perform both duties to be considered. The ideal candidate will have experience operating snow removal equipment and possess mechanical knowledge to ensure safe and effective operation. This role is vital in maintaining safe access for residents, employees, and visitors during inclement weather conditions.

Duties

Operate snow plow trucks, loaders, skid steers and/or related equipment to remove snow and ice from roads, parking lots, and sidewalks

Perform Manual Labour tasks when required for upwards of 10 hours.*
Shifts vary from 3-12 hours depending on tasks required, operator must be able to work on short notice during snow events. Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on plow vehicles to ensure optimal functioning Use hand tools, power tools, and mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues Clear debris and perform minor repairs on equipment to prevent operational delays Maintain safety standards by adhering to CAF's Safety Plan, and completing all necessary forms to ensure COR requirements. Document completed work and report any significant mechanical or safety concerns to supervisors

Requirements

Proven experience operating snow plow or similar heavy machinery such as excavators or other construction equipment Mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance on vehicles and tools Able to work, alone, breakdown tasks, and trouble shoot when needed Ability to work in cold weather conditions for extended periods during snow removal operations Knowledge of hand tools and power tools used in maintenance or construction tasks Strong attention to safety protocols and ability to follow detailed instructions

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required*
Physical ability to lift heavy loads, operate machinery safely, and work outdoors in winter weather conditions
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $19.60-$27.88 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 30 per week
