Job Description


Overview:
Rambus, a premier chip and silicon IP provider, is seeking to hire an exceptional SMTS System Validation Engineer to join our CXL products business unit team in Vancouver, Canada. Candidates will be joining some of the brightest inventors and engineers in the world to develop products that make data faster and safer.

The candidate needs to be self-motivated with strong technical skills to execute system validation functions. These include test infrastructure hardware/software development, test plan creation, and test plan execution. You will gain experience with high speed Serdes, CXL and DDR protocol validation and compliance, as well as system level testing and software automation of complex SoCs. Responsibilities:

  • Contributing to SoC emulation and/or lab silicon bring-up and validation of high-speed integrated SoC products
  • Developing scripts for device/system under test, lab equipment and system level stimulus control
  • Developing software for shared test automation and efficient lab data analysis
  • Working with silicon design and firmware teams to develop experiments, drive data collection, and present results analysis
  • Interacting extensively in a team environment with employees in other disciplines and geographies
Qualifications:
  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • 3+ years of SoC post silicon validation experience
  • Experience with interface protocols, such as PCIe, DDR, SPI, I2C, and I3C - system design considerations and investigations
  • Experience with lab equipment such as protocol analyzers, high-speed oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
  • Experience writing lab automation scripts and remote handling of lab equipment, especially in Python and/or Perl.
  • Must be a team player and work well with lab engineers and other cross functional designers
  • Strong background in computer architecture, digital systems, IC design and architecture
  • Strong problem solving skills with a deep understanding of full system stack including board hardware, silicon hardware, SoC firmware and system software/drivers


Desired Skills


  • Hands-on hardware experience with x86 CPU systems is preferred, including Linux/Windows OS and drivers
  • Knowledge of processor and memory system architecture
  • Experience in high speed digital designs, boards designs, PCB layouts, signal integrity concepts and manufacturing process
