As a small

Small Equipment Operator/Laborer

at Can-Traffic, you will play a key role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of essential traffic control devices such as street lights, traffic signals, pedestrian crossovers, signage, flashing beacons, and more.

You'll be an integral part of our 3-5 person teams, working year-round Monday to Friday with 40+ hour work weeks and opportunities for overtime. You may also be assigned to out-of-town or night shift projects from time to time.

To excel in this role, you should be a dependable, hard-working individual with some experience in the construction industry. The ability to show up on time, work in a physically demanding environment, and contribute to the success of the team is essential.

What you will do Everyday



Collaborate with experienced technicians to assist in the maintenance and repair of traffic signals, street lights, and other roadside infrastructure. Operate a variety of tools and equipment under the supervision of senior team members. Depending on your training and experience, this may include hand tools, power tools, and larger machinery such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, skid steers, mini excavators, and ditch witches. Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure your safety, as well as the safety of your teammates and the public. Help maintain a clean and organized worksite by removing debris, organizing materials, and properly storing tools and equipment. Perform other tasks as directed by the supervisor.

Skills Required



Physical stamina to handle demanding tasks and work in physically challenging conditions. Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, or out-of-town as required. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Reliable, punctual, and committed to a strong work ethic. Excellent organizational skills.

Qualifications Needed



High School Diploma with 2 years related construction experience Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license and submission of a 5-year Commercial Driver's Abstract with less than 7 demerits
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.97-$26.60 per hour
