The John Howard Society of New Brunswick Fundy Region Inc. will be offering a Skills Link Program beginning January 2026 for a three month period. The Skills Link Program Worker will be coordinating and facilitating a range of activities to help youth (aged 18 to 29) overcome barriers to employment. The paid classroom portion of the Program supports a flexible, tailored approach to teach the skills necessary to finding employment. A paid employment placement component offers the practical hands on experience necessary to securing and maintaining meaningful work.
Responsibilities:
Work effectively with a diverse population, including young people with employment barriers
Facilitate and Coordinate a three month program
Engage and inspire those involved in the program
Develop and maintain relationships with potential employers in the Saint John area
Follow Program standards and John Howard Society Policies as directed by the supervisor and evaluator
Maintain weekly records
Organize, attend and support a variety of events and outreach efforts
Build strong relationships with community support services and resources
Excellent writing and communication skills
Ability to exercise discretion and to respect privacy rights
Ability to work independently
Qualifications
Post secondary education in a related field
Strong knowledge of community helping services
Strong history of developing relationships with employers
Experience facilitating and coordinating programs
