Job Description

Role Summary:

This role is a skilled construction laborer with advanced first aid expertise and a strong focus on site safety. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing immediate first aid response and treatment in the event of onsite injuries, ensuring that the construction site remains as safe as possible. In addition, the role involves a significant amount of general labor and support to the Site Superintendent, making it vital for the smooth operation of day-to-day construction activities

Key Responsibilities:

1. General Construction Duties:

Assist with a variety of construction tasks including framing, roofing, drywall, and concrete work. Load, unload, and organize building materials, tools, and equipment efficiently. Support site cleanup and waste disposal efforts to maintain a safe and organized work environment. Perform minor maintenance and repairs on tools and equipment as required.

2. First Aid and Emergency Response:

Maintain, inspect, and replenish first aid kits, medical supplies, and emergency equipment to ensure they are ready for use. Provide prompt and effective first aid treatment to injured workers. Accurately document all first aid treatments and incidents in accordance with safety protocols. Coordinate with local emergency services and medical professionals when additional care is necessary. Coordinate regular first aid drills and emergency response training to remain prepared for onsite incidents.

3. Safety and Compliance:

Ensure the site is operating under and in compliance with our safety program manual. Report and document noncompliance events. Participate in regular safety meetings and contribute to maintaining high safety standards on site. Proactively identify potential hazards and report them promptly to the Site Superintendent. Ensure that first aid procedures and safety measures are consistently reviewed and updated in line with regulatory standards.

4. Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with the Site Superintendent and other team members to ensure tasks are completed on schedule and within project scope. Communicate clearly regarding onsite safety issues, emergency incidents, and overall project progress. Provide recommendations for improving safety practices and first aid readiness based-on onsite observations.

Qualifications

Technical Skills and Certifications:

Valid certification - First Aid Level 2. Strong knowledge of construction site safety procedures and emergency response protocols. Ability to effectively use basic construction tools and perform general labor tasks.

Experience:

Minimum 3 years of experience as a skilled construction laborer. Multi-year experience in site safety with hands-on first aid and emergency response training.

Physical Abilities:

Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally. Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions. Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods. Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination essential for both first aid response and general labor tasks.

Other Requirements:

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Strong work ethic, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. Flexibility to work overtime or weekends as needed to meet project deadlines. Ability to remain calm, decisive, and effective in emergency situations.

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
