Bursey Excavating & Development Inc is currently seeking a Skilled Labourer to join our team in the St. John's, NL area.Skilled LabourerJob Responsibilities:

• Operate a variety of hand and power tools, including drills, forklifts, skid loaders and other tools as directed by management
• Clean and prepare construction sites as needed, including erecting scaffolding, removing and properly disposing of debris and waste materials, and digging trenches
• Shovel materials to and from construction areas, including asphalt and dirt.
• Follow all safety procedures on the job site and report violations immediately to management
• Maintain a safe and clean job site by handling materials and storing them properly, picking up and removing all tools and equipment when not in use, and securing the job site on a daily basis
• Load and unload construction supplies from trucks both manually and with the use of equipment
• Position or dismantle forms for pouring concrete, using saws, hammers, nails, or bolts
• Demolition
• Operate jackhammers and drills to break up concrete or pavement
• Provide basic machine adjustments and maintenance
• Perform tasks involving physical labor at building, highway, and heavy construction projects, tunnel and shaft excavations, and demolition sites
• Shovel cement and other materials into portable cement mixers; and mix, pour, and spread concrete

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Experience using measurement tools and reading blueprints - mandatory
• Good machine programming skills
• Ability to provide physical effort - heavy lifting required
• Comfortable using both hand and power tools
• Valid drivers license
• Minimum 3 years of experience in construction
• Ability to lift heavy equipment
• Maintain company safety guidelines and practices

Job Type: Full-timePay: $17.00-$19.00 per hourExpected hours: 40 - 60 per weekSchedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

Experience:

• Construction: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• Driver's License (required)
