Bursey Excavating & Development Inc is currently seeking a Skilled Labourer to join our team in the St. John\'s, NL area. Skilled Labourer Job Responsibilities:
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools, including drills, forklifts, skid loaders and other tools as directed by management
- Clean and prepare construction sites as needed, including erecting scaffolding, removing and properly disposing of debris and waste materials, and digging trenches
- Shovel materials to and from construction areas, including asphalt and dirt.
- Follow all safety procedures on the job site and report violations immediately to management
- Maintain a safe and clean job site by handling materials and storing them properly, picking up and removing all tools and equipment when not in use, and securing the job site on a daily basis
- Load and unload construction supplies from trucks both manually and with the use of equipment
- Position or dismantle forms for pouring concrete, using saws, hammers, nails, or bolts
- Demolition
- Operate jackhammers and drills to break up concrete or pavement
- Provide basic machine adjustments and maintenance
- Perform tasks involving physical labor at building, highway, and heavy construction projects, tunnel and shaft excavations, and demolition sites
- Shovel cement and other materials into portable cement mixers; and mix, pour, and spread concrete
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Experience using measurement tools and reading blueprints \xe2\x80\x93 mandatory
- Good machine programming skills
- Ability to provide physical effort \xe2\x80\x93 heavy lifting required
- Comfortable using both hand and power tools
- Valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license
- Minimum 3 years of experience in construction
- Ability to lift heavy equipment
- Maintain company safety guidelines and practices
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
- Construction: 1 year (preferred)
- Driver\'s License (required)
