Overview
We are seeking a skilled Skid Steer Operator to join our dynamic team. As a
Skid Steer Operator
, you'll be responsible for clearing snow from parking lots, drive lanes, and tight or high-traffic areas where precision is key. This is a
seasonal, on-call position
requiring flexibility during storms, including overnight, early morning, and weekend availability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy equipment operation and construction site experience. As a Skid Steer Operator, you will be responsible for operating operating the equipment to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
Duties
Operate skid steer loaders to remove and relocate snow on commercial and residential sites
Maintain awareness of surroundings to avoid property damage or injury
Conduct pre- and post-operation equipment checks and report any issues
Collaborate with team members to complete projects on schedule while adhering to safety protocols.
Respond promptly to snow events as dispatched
Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.
Experience
Minimum 1 year experience operating skid steers (preferably in snow removal)
Valid operator's license or relevant certification, or ability to prove competency
Ability to work independently in challenging winter conditions
Reliable transportation to dispatch locations
Strong attention to safety, surroundings, and time management
Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
Prior experience working on construction sites is an asset.
Familiarity with commercial driving requirements and regulations.
Experience with Kubota or Caterpillar machinery and other heavy equipment brands is a plus.
Assets (Preferred but Not Mandatory):
Experience with snow removal equipment
Mechanical aptitude for minor equipment troubleshooting
Familiarity with both residential driveways and commercial parking lots
