Job Summary
As a part of our Snow School team, you are responsible for teaching the sport of skiing or snowboarding in a safe and fun environment. You'll deliver lessons that meet departmental standards as well as CSIA guidelines, while creating a welcoming and memorable experience for guests of all ages and abilities.
You are a front-line staff member--problem solving and providing exceptional customer service to
create an inclusive experience, united by adventure and empowered by community.
Cross training and working within other departments is required to support business needs.

Minimum CSIA Level 1 or approved equivalent

Job Responsibilities
Teach skiing in a safe, fun, and professional manner
Deliver lessons aligned with CSIA standards and SMR's guest service expectations
Provide personalized instruction based on individual guest needs
Answer guest questions and handle on-hill concerns
Attend and participate in daily briefings and training as required
Adhere to the Alpine Responsibility Code and check-in procedures
Report emergencies and assist with on-hill incidents as needed
Assist with snow maintenance tasks including raking, shoveling, and clearing lift chairs
Follow all resort policies and safety procedures, including proper radio use
Ensure every guest has a valid pass
Maintain a clean, professional appearance
Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Minimum certification:
CSIA Level 1 (or equivalent)
AST Level 1 an asset
Ability to work outside in mountain weather for long periods
Physically able to assist guests and lift up to 50 lbs
Available weekends, holidays, and peak periods
Able to multitask and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable working with children, adults, and families
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Team player with adaptability and problem-solving abilities
All SMR staff are expected to assist with snow removal and cross-departmental support as needed
