Ski Patrol - Dispatcher
Under the direction of the Patrol Leader as a Dispatcher you are the main hub of communication for the entire resort. All departments go through dispatch for both regular information and during emergency situations. You are the resource for all past and present information regarding emergencies, and the point of contact for resources, like EMS, Police, Fire, outside of the resort. Located in the ski patrol base hut, the dispatcher is responsible for monitoring patients and providing care for extended periods of time if needed. They also help the patrol by ensuring that any patient paperwork is completed correctly.

Primary Responsibilities



Act as main communication contact for all emergencies on the mountain and premise. Act as point of contact for any outside resources that are needed, such as EMS, Police, Fire Provide necessary communication to all relevant parties during emergencies and non-emergencies. Work with administration for any staff related accidents. Patient monitoring and paperwork once patients are transported to the patrol hut. Ensuring the patrol hut is medically stocked with supplies and able to receive patients at any time. Collecting up-to-date terrain condition information from patrol and ensuring all relevant parties have been updated daily. Ensuring all guests and staff adhere to the RCR/Nakiska safety guidelines and procedures while on the mountain.

Qualifications



Current 80-hour Advanced First Aid in outdoor emergency care, or EMR certificate. Any radio or administration experience is considered an asset. Ability to communicate effectively and multitask under pressure. Ability to use common computer programs, such as Word, Excel, Adobe, etc. Attention to detail and highly organized. Must have good physical fitness. Any previous experience in any safety or related outdoor role, or risk management training, is consider an asset. Any familiarity with Nakiska Ski Resort is considered an asset. No skiing experience is required, but an interest in learning is strongly encouraged. Can work outside for brief periods in extreme winter conditions.
