Job Summary

The

Lift Operator

plays a vital role in ensuring a safe and enjoyable skiing experience for all guests. As a key front-line representative of Hockley Valley Resort, you will assist and guide skiers of all levels--from beginners to experts--while maintaining a friendly, safety-conscious environment at all lift operations.

Key Responsibilities

Safely load and unload passengers on chair lifts and surface lifts. Monitor loading and unloading zones to prevent hazards or unsafe situations. Provide clear instruction and guidance on proper lift procedures to guests. Maintain smooth operations by organizing line-ups and maximizing lift capacity. Check and validate lift tickets and season passes for authenticity and date. Offer friendly and accurate directions to guests throughout the resort. Direct skiers of varying ability levels to appropriate slopes. Communicate with Lift Mechanics or Supervisors regarding any mechanical or safety concerns. Conduct visual inspections and complete required

daily lift inspection logs

. Maintain cleanliness and safety of lift loading/unloading areas, including snow maintenance. Prepare lift areas for opening and closing, ensuring conditions remain safe and tidy. Observe guests riding lifts to identify and address any unsafe behavior. Politely enforce skier responsibility code and resort safety policies as needed.

Qualifications & Attributes

Positive attitude and commitment to guest service excellence. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Strong communication and situational awareness skills. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform moderate physical tasks. Previous experience in a customer service or outdoor recreation setting is an asset (training provided). Must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
