IPL\'s 4500 employees also manufacture and market industrial chemicals and fertilizer products & services to customers around the world.Site SupervisorPosition Summary:Reports to: Operations Manager / Manitoba & SaskatchewanResponsible for the following:Supervise employees and manage assets at the Rainy River, Ontario distribution site to deliver Dyno Nobel\xe2\x80\x99s non-negotiable Zero Harm safety program as well as the company\xe2\x80\x99s financial objectives. Manage employees, equipment, maintenance, site infrastructure and CFC\xe2\x80\x99s. Duties include scheduling, manpower optimization, equipment optimization, customer support.Role Competencies:Develop and maintain professional relationships with both internal and external customers to successfully meet objectives and add value for customers, manufacturing sites and distribution.Work to achieve high levels of positive working relationships with customers to fully demonstrate Dyno Nobels service commitment.Understand and enhance service requirements to continually improve customer profitability.Implement continuous improvement programs (BEx) by following management policies and procedures in order to meet customer expectations, business objectives and budget goals.Contribute to achieving budgeted customer profitability as measured by EBIT,EBITDA.Prepare and submit proper paperwork to document expenses, safety statistics, payroll information and other as required by policy.Lead employees into safe day meetings, and track all take 5s, JSA, and near miss reporting.Ensure all site Lics are accurate and up to date and report amendments to Regulatory Manager.Authority to make day to day decisions relating to job assignments, deployment of assets and personnel and maintenance schedulingManage the profitability of the site by controlling cash fixed costs and ensuring assets and personnel resources are adequately deployed.Participate in customer meetings to help plan and execute work in a safe and timely fashion.Assist with implementation and development of HSE policies and procedures.Requirements:Education:

  • May substitute work experience and/or training in the explosives or mining industries or other directly related work experience for some required education.
Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years working in a Supervisory role
  • Experience in the mining or mining related industries
  • Experience in the explosives industry.
Technical:
  • Must be at least 21 year of age.
  • Possess a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license.
  • Knowledgeable of applicable ERD, Transport Canada and all other relevant regulations related to the explosives industry
  • Travel (10%) may vary depending on location and nature of work directed.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk and listen.
  • May require exposure to long distance driving, road hazards, hazardous and explosive materials, and machinery at work sites (mines, construction, manufacturing plants).
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Must be able to lift 25 Kgs intermittently.
  • Ability to travel extensively.
