Position Background:
The Site Foreman/Site Supervisor will oversee the day to day operations in the field and direct and mentor the Labourers and Pumping Technicians onsite within the scope of authority. The Site Supervisor is responsible for client relations and the completion/delegation of all tasks assigned by the Site Superintendent or Project Manager. This position contributes to Ketek Group's reputation for safe and timely project execution and is vital to the long-term growth of the company.
Essential Responsibilities:
Lead project onsite, supervise subcontractors, interact with the client's representatives
Adhere to contract specifications and notify the client and/or head office when changes to the contract, the scope of the project, or schedule is imminent
Ensure the safety of the workers and ensure workers have the proper training to complete tasks
Handle employee relations while onsite
Manage, guide, mentor, motivate, and lead workers toward the accomplishment of project goals
Identify training needs and development potential of site personnel
Attend and lead onsite safety meetings
Ensure all site documentation is completed and sent in on time
Load and unload trucks and equipment
Install, monitor, and troubleshoot equipment as per project and quote requirements
Ensure routine onsite housekeeping duties are performed
Operate vehicles in a safe manner and maintain company vehicles
Oversee and perform the maintenance, repair, install, and service generators, light towers, diesel pumps, electric pumps, and heating equipment
Observe and adhere to all safety protocols and procedures
Ensure that the project is completed as outlined in the quote
Availability to respond on short notice and accommodate various scheduling demands
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:
Valid class 5 drivers license and clean driver abstract
Basic electrical knowledge
Basic mechanical knowledge
Ability to work with power construction tools
Knowledge of pumping systems
Fluent in the English language (reading, written, spoken)
Excellent communication skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks and frequent demanding deadlines
Ability to handle changing schedules and priorities with high-level prioritization skills
Emerging negotiation skills
Intermediate computer skills
Intermediate leadership/mentoring skills
High-level documentation skills
Computer skills (Excel, Google Doc, Word, etc.)
Drug and alcohol testing and a medical exam are required for this position
Working Conditions:
Be willing to and able work in remote locations for extended periods of time
The work is both physically and mentally demanding
Must work outside in all different weather conditions, including extreme cold and extreme heat
May be exposed to unpleasant sights and smells
May at times be exposed to dangerous and/or toxic substances and must take necessary precautions to protect eyes, nose, and skin from irritation and infection
Working closely with the skilled and experienced workers
Working closely with clients and third-party contractors
Working at heights and in confined spaces
Expect to do a considerable amount of lifting, carrying, climbing, kneeling, and balancing, therefore a certain amount of strength, dexterity, and alertness is required
