Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate daily construction site activities to ensure workflow efficiency
Report directly to the Vice President of Construction, providing regular updates and escalating site issues as needed
Enforce compliance with Step Code and other building regulations, including proper documentation
Open and close the site daily, ensuring readiness for trades, deliveries, and inspections
Operate or support operation of basic site equipment where required
Monitor and enforce WCB (WorkSafeBC) safety standards and protocols
Educate site workers on safety policies and conduct on-site safety orientations
Respond promptly to incidents and ensure incident reporting procedures are followed
Manage and track building materials; maintain accurate site inventory
Oversee subcontractors and on-site workers to ensure scope and quality adherence
Maintain accurate attendance logs, daily reports, and site documentation
Identify and recommend improvements for site efficiency and safety
Assist with onboarding, mentoring, and supporting new on-site staff
Coordinate closely with the Site Manager and other project leads to ensure smooth workflow
Perform daily quality control checks and initiate corrective/preventive actions as needed
Maintain all site records and documentation in compliance with project and legal standards
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum 4 years of hands-on construction experience in residential or commercial building
Prior experience in a supervisory role on active construction sites
Post-secondary education in construction supervision, engineering, or a related trade preferred
Familiarity with WorkSafeBC safety practices and ability to enforce safety protocols
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring)
Knowledge of BC Step Code requirements is considered a strong asset
Capable of operating or assisting with standard site equipment and tools
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset
Highly organized with excellent time management and multitasking capabilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective team and client coordination
Ability to remain composed under pressure and manage priorities with minimal supervision
Demonstrated ability to foster a positive and productive site environment
Must have legal authorization to work in Canada - this position does not offer sponsorship
Compensation:
Negotiable based on experience.
