Introduction

FMC is a development company specializing in single and multi-family home construction.

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized

Site Superintendent

to oversee and manage residential and commercial construction projects in the Nanaimo area. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day operations on construction sites. Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, trades, and suppliers. Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations (WorkSafeBC), and company policies. Maintain and update project schedules, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met. Conduct regular site inspections and safety meetings. Manage site documentation including daily logs, change orders, and deficiency lists. Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and municipal inspectors. Ensure quality control and adherence to project specifications. Resolve on-site issues and conflicts efficiently. Maintain a clean and organized job site.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Minimum

5-10 years

of experience in a supervisory role in Multi Family residential and/or commercial construction. Proven track record managing projects over

$2 million

in value. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Proficient in reading blueprints and construction drawings. Familiarity with local building codes, zoning bylaws, and inspection processes. Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite and Procore). Valid Class 5 Driver's License and reliable transportation. Certifications such as

First Aid, WHMIS, Fall Protection

are assets.

Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
