Position Summary
The Senior Site Procurement Lead, based in the downtown Toronto area, is responsible for leading and executing procurement activities at the site level, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services to support operational goals. This role oversees supplier management, sourcing strategies, contract negotiations, and compliance with corporate procurement policies.
The ideal candidate is a proactive, analytical professional with strong negotiation skills and a deep understanding of supply chain and procurement best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement OperationsManage the end-to-end procurement process for the site, including requisition review, supplier selection, quotation analysis, award recommendations, purchase order issuance, administration, and close-out.
Source consumable goods, equipment, materials, and construction related tools.
Oversee and manage Master Agreements and related documentation.
Ensure materials, equipment, and services are procured in alignment with cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
Support the development and implementation of local supplier strategies.
Review and approve invoices as services are performed and materials are supplied.
Supplier ManagementMonitor supplier performance, resolve quality or delivery issues, and conduct regular business reviews.
Report any overages, shortages, or damaged materials.
Collaborate with suppliers to drive continuous improvement, innovation, and efficiency.
Strategic Sourcing & Cost OptimizationAnalyze market trends, cost drivers, and spend data to identify cost-saving and efficiency opportunities.
Track and understand spend by supplier and category to inform strategic sourcing decisions.
Negotiate contracts and long-term agreements to secure optimal pricing, terms, and conditions.
Implement cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality and service levels.
Compliance & Risk ManagementEnsure all procurement activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, and legal requirements.
Mitigate supply chain risks by developing contingency plans and diversifying sources.
Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure audit readiness.
Collaboration & Stakeholder EngagementPartner with Construction, Facilities, Cost Control, and Accounting teams to align procurement strategies with site and project objectives.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior procurement staff.
Track and report key procurement metrics, supplier performance, and KPIs to management.
Qualifications
Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 5-8 years of procurement or supply chain experience, preferably in major projects, infrastructure, industrial, manufacturing, or construction environments.
Supply Chain Professional certification is beneficial.
Skills & CompetenciesStrong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and procurement tools.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
