Operations Site Director
Your Mission
As a member of Mississauga Operations Leadership Team, you will lead in the development of all strategic and tactical aspects of the site operational teams including production coordination, production, facility management, engineering, maintenance, operational excellence & continuous improvement, in alignment with country business requirements and Global operational strategies.
This critical role will lead in the development and delivery of the overall annual operational budgeting processes, including site specific budgets, capital budget creation, R&M & facility budget creation, people, team and facility requirements while participating, leading, and developing aspects of the long-term operational vision for the site and overall organization. As a people and process leader, this role will continuously ensure the sustainable development of growth activities and capabilities of the team at all levels of the organization while participating, leading and developing a vision that inspires people in delivering outstanding results.

MandateComply with all local and national safety legal requirements
Comply with all local and national food safety and legal requirements
Perform all job responsibilities under the strictest guidelines of food safety standards
Build a culture rooted in safety, accountability, collaboration, and pride in quality
Key tasksLead the development and implementation of both short and long-term business strategies designed to meet all areas of operational goals and objectives in alignment with Canadian business requirements and Group operations strategies.
Production and Site Management
Champion the production and manufacturing processes within the Mississauga site.
Lead and develop performance metrics achieving overall business plans.
Implement meaningful production strategies and measure in delivering on-going production efficiencies.
Address, and take measures, to resolve inefficiencies and conflicts within people and processes.
Reinforce the effective use of GMP, Sanitation, and system adherence with internal processes and business partners.
Integrate the manufacturing voice into the overall vision of an integral part of the short term & long-term production planning and supply chain strategies.
Work closely with other functional and operational leaders (Sales, Quality, Safety, Supply Chain, R&D, ...) to ensure manufacturing strategies are aligned with the overall business objectives of Puratos Canada & the Puratos Group.
Provide hands on leadership in developing, motivating and inspiring the team in searching for continuous process improvements
Participate actively as a member of several operational and facility teams
Capital assets management
Apply management principles in developing:
Capex & R&M requirements to enhance production performance
Calculate IRR for all major capital additions with documented business case scenario
Generate systematic action plans to review line automation on an on-going basis
Minimize spending risk through effective supplier management strategies and competitive quotations
Union contract negotiation & management
Collaborate in contract negotiations to develop a Collective Bargaining Agreement that fairly represents the interests of both the company and its employees.* Ensure all performance criteria's are integrated into day-to-day activities
Identify issues which may impact the performance of Puratos Canada during the negotiated Collective Bargaining Agreement and addresses those issues effectively through appropriate actions
Alleviate workers grievances through effective listening and firm actions
Development and teamwork
Lead and facilitate team efforts to define the long-term vision and identify the skills needed for future success.* Coach & Lead teams in achieving targets, goals, and developmental objectives
Develop subordinates in embracing responsibilities and accepting accountabilities of both success and failure
Develop and implement a succession plan to ensure continuity in key Operations roles, focusing on identifying talent and supporting their growth through targeted development initiatives.*
What we expect from you
A minimum of 10+ years of experience in a senior leadership role
University degree in Commerce, Business, Science or Engineering a must
Professional degree in engineering is an asset
Financial acumen in development and management of budgetary requirements.
Extensive practical knowledge in operations, safety & HACCP standards
Excellent communication and negotiation skills (verbal/written)
Experience in a fast-paced multi-tasking, multi-national environment
Capability to organize, plan and execute tasks reliably and independently
Able to think logically around issues & tasks in resolving conflicts
Ability to facilitate changes by influencing others through analytical approach
Proficient in MS Office and ERP Management
