Position Summary

Reporting to the Associate Dean - Integrative Health and Wellness, the incumbent will assist with development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of learning activities for students, staff and faculty using a variety of strategies including simulation technology to support the health programs. The incumbentwill also participate in implementation and evaluation of the simulation lab strategic plan in collaboration with simulation laboratory staff.
Duties and Responsibilities

Prepares and maintains simulation labs and equipment for programs
Provides demonstration of proper equipment use and relevant procedures
Provides input into student achievement of learning outcomes and supports student progress through effective and timely communication
Utilizes appropriate technological tools that support the learning environment
Responsible for facilitating low and high-fidelity simulations
Responsible for simulation debriefing
Participates as a member of the Simulation Development Committee
Qualifications
------------------
Diploma or degree prepared paramedic with AEMCA designation and evidence of good standing with their base hospital
and/or
Diploma or Baccalaureate degree in Nursing.
Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
A minimum of three (3) years experience in a health care setting
Professional Development in simulation
Previous experience in simulation delivery and assessment
Experience in the use oftechnologicaltoolsto supportlearning in the care ofclientsrequiringmedical/surgical nursing isa definite asset
Experience operating human simulation equipmentina learning environmentisan asset
Demonstrated understanding ofthe principlesof teaching and learningforadultlearners
An abilityto troubleshoottechnologicalproblems
Outstandingcommunications,presentationandinterpersonalskillsandabilitytomaintainacollaborative environment demonstrated through an effective network of contactswith other professionals within the industry
Aptitude or ability to work with relevant College systems anddatabases
Excellent proven problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to work both as part of a team and individually with minimal supervision
An ability to apply an understanding of diversity and inclusiveness to meet the needs of a diverse student and stakeholder population
