The opportunity:



This role supports the College of Nursing's simulation and VR labs by managing, operating, and maintaining high- and mid-fidelity mannequins, VR hardware/software, and related medical equipment. The position handles equipment setup, programming, troubleshooting, repairs, inventory management, and routine maintenance. It also prepares simulation and skills labs for classes, ensures safety and policy compliance, and provides technical support to faculty, staff, and students.

Additional responsibilities include onboarding and supporting simulation operators, collaborating with IT/AV services, maintaining lab cleanliness, coordinating supply orders, updating asset inventory, and assisting with scenario setup and operation. The role also contributes to improving simulation technology and processes, fabricating or adapting equipment when needed, and performing other general technical and operational duties to ensure smooth daily lab operations.

The qualifications and experience we're looking for:



Completion of a Community College course in a related health or technical field required. Minimum 1 year of directly related experience required, preferably in a hospital/medical setting. Knowledge of medical terminology and equipment used in nursing required. Experience using and maintaining nursing care equipment required, including ability to troubleshoot malfunction and perform minor repairs. An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite of programs and Apple computers required. Must have highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, and organization abilities. Excellent command of the English language - verbal and written - required. Must have a mature attitude with attention to detail and ability to complete assignments in the midst of distractions. Must be able to work independently as well as in a team. Moderate to heavy lifting required - maximum weight approximately 80 lbs. Ability to learn new technologies quickly and easily required. Ability to organize and maintain accurate records required. Technical background and ability to setup, operate, troubleshoot equipment (AV, IT, and simulation technology) preferred. Demonstrate initiative, independence, reliability, attention to detail, and good judgement. Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required. No allergies to job-related materials.

Pay: $23.13-$33.29 per hour
