We are currently seeking a
Lab Lead
for
PN1025
, a key course in our Practical Nursing Program. The successful candidate will play a central role in leading lab and simulation-based learning, coordinating testing, and ensuring instructional excellence.
Class Dates:November 7, 13, 20, 28; December 12; January 3, 8, 15, 22
Online Exams:Midterm - December 4 | Final - January 24
Lab Times:
7:30 AM - 5:00 PM (9:00 AM - 3:00 PM on SIMS days)
Lab Dates:November 8, 14, 21, 22, 29; December 6 (Midterm Testing), 13; January 7, 9, 16, 23, 28, 30, 31; February 11 (Case Study Testing)
SIMS Days:February 3 & 4
Key Responsibilities
Lab & Class Preparation:
Collaborating with curriculum teams to review syllabi, resources, and simulation objectives.
Coordinating with Lab Assistants and preparing instructional materials in advance.
Instruction & Facilitation:
Demonstrating clinical procedures based on official checklists.
Supporting students through feedback, practice, and skill development.
Providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
Testing Leadership:
Planning and leading midterm and final testing days.
Coordinating and supporting testers, ensuring documentation is complete.
Conducting student debriefs and addressing appeals per academic policy.
Compliance:
Following all approved assessment tools and checklists without deviation.
Ensuring alignment with safety standards and curriculum protocols.
Qualifications
Professional Licensure:
Active LPN or RN registration in good standing (BCCNM or equivalent).
Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years of recent and relevant clinical experience, particularly in
Acute Care
.
Previous instructional or supervisory experience is an asset.
Commitment to Development:
Must complete the
NACC Instructor Development Course
and provide evidence of
144 annual hours of clinical practice
related to instructional content.
