POSITION SUMMARY: The Registered Nurse/Project Lead for Siksika Health Services (SHS) is responsible implementing, and managing programs and projects focused on primary preventative care. This role involves a collaborative approach to improving the health and well-being of individuals within the Siksika Nation by addressing preventable health issues through education, early intervention, and community-based initiatives.
The Registered Nurse/Project Lead will actively develop health-focused policies, coordinate care delivery plans, and oversee initiatives aimed at promoting health literacy, preventative screenings, and wellness. This position aligns with SHS's commitment to culturally responsive, patient-centered care while respecting and promoting the values and traditions of the Siksika Nation.
Responsibilities include, but will not be limited to:
Develop and implement primary preventative care initiatives to improve community health outcomes.
Create and maintain policies and procedures that reflect best practices in preventative care and cultural competence.
Collaborate with healthcare providers and community stakeholders to identify and address health risks within the Siksika Nation.
Plan and execute educational campaigns to increase health literacy and promote healthy lifestyles, such as nutrition, physical activity, and smoking cessation.
Coordinate and manage preventative health screenings and immunization programs.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of projects, using data to inform adjustments and report on outcomes.
Train and support SHS staff in implementing preventative care strategies aligned with cultural values and healthcare best practices.
Act as a point of contact for patients and families seeking preventative care guidance and resources.
Liaise with external agencies and organizations to secure funding and establish partnerships for preventative care programs.
Stay informed on trends, regulations, and best practices in public health and preventative care.
Provide regular updates and recommendations to SHS leadership on the progress of preventative care initiatives.

Education:
A degree in nursing (e.g. BN, BSN) is required.
Certification in project management (e.g. Prosci) is highly desirable.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in nursing, healthcare management, or project management, ideally within a First Nations context.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Cultural Competency: Deep understanding of the Siksika Nation's culture, traditions, and health challenges, with a commitment to culturally respectful care.
Healthcare Knowledge: Proficient in preventative care, public health strategies, and health education.
Project Management: Strong organizational, planning, and leadership skills to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to engage with diverse audiences.
Data Analysis: Ability to evaluate program effectiveness using evidence-based methods.
Community Engagement: Skill in building trusting relationships with community members and stakeholders.
Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with electronic health records, health data systems, and project management tools.
Demonstrated expertise in preventative care and public health strategies.
Experience working collaboratively with Indigenous communities is highly desirable Requirements:
Driver's license with reliable transportation.
Full criminal record clearance.
Moderate knowledge of the philosophy and issues regarding the delivery of First Nation healthcare.
