Job Description

Reporting to the General Managers, the Supervisor is responsible for organizing a crew of workers to deliver a successful project by meeting or exceeding corporate and project goals. The Signals Supervisor must ensure safety, quality, profitability, and scheduling, resulting in customer satisfaction.

What You'll Do:



Plan, direct, and manage all activities of all assigned projects at different stages of completion, to ensure that company objectives for customer satisfaction, safety, quality, production, revenue and profit are met within a specific time frame Actively supports the Company's commitment to safety and its core values Plan, organize, and staff key field positions through operation department heads or project managers Responsible and accountable for the project management system, tools, and personnel Administer internal project meetings with the GMs, field engineers, and appropriate subcontracts to make necessary changes and finalize the work schedule Attend the customer's Pre-Construction Meeting and ensure necessary staff and sub-contractors attend The Signals Supervisor will procure critical Project Documents (necessary permits, submittals, sub-contractor insurance requirements) required by the specifications or client Monitor projects daily and record production and job costs into the project management system Manage financial aspects of contracts to protect the company's interest, ensure profitability, and maintain good client relationships Prepare weekly and monthly Project Progress Reports as required Complete a Project Close-out Report to identify final changes in work scope, additional revenue opportunities, punch list items and any hindrances that may delay closing out and final payment Submit invoices and collect payments from the customer as necessary Provides strong leadership to construction team members, capitalizing on individual and group strengths Update and maintain customer/contact database for all contacts associated with any project, existing customers, sub-contractors, prime contractors or any other parties that may influence or impact Universal Signals & Communication success Coach and mentor direct reports to build strong and effective crews May perform other related duties as required

What is Required:



Minimum 5 years' of S&C construction and maintenance experience Knowledge in Signals and Communications, safety regulations, and industry standards Extensive experience in all aspects of Railway construction project management Excellent communication and leadership skills Ability and experience in managing subcontractors, schedules, and budgets Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Computer skills and experience in Microsoft Office Suite is an asset Valid Driver's License Class 5 or Equivalent Basic electrical / mechanical /construction background Ability to anticipate stakeholder needs and identify solutions Demonstrate ability to perform professionally, ensuring complete confidentiality of sensitive and confidential information Ability to handle multiple tasks in a high-pressure and demanding work environment Willing to work days, nights, weekends, out of town as required
