The Shuttle Driver position is a unique opportunity to be part of our hospitality-focused team at Manana Resort & Marina. Our drivers are friendly, dependable individuals who help deliver a seamless guest experience by providing safe, reliable, and welcoming shuttle transportation services to and from the resort, marina, and local destinations.
Shuttle Drivers play an essential part in creating a positive first and last impression for our guests. The right candidate is personable, punctual, and maintains a strong safety record behind the wheel. You will also represent our values and property with every guest interaction, acting as an ambassador of the resort.
Duties & Responsibilities
Safely transport guests between the resort, marina, local attractions, and events using the resort shuttle.
Must be available evenings and weekends, shifts Friday through Sunday.
Assist guests with luggage (if necessary) and ensure all passengers are safely seated and secure.
Maintain the cleanliness, fueling, and minor upkeep of the shuttle vehicle.
Perform routine safety checks and inspections of the vehicle.
Maintain driver daily logs and other records are required.
Report vehicle issues and maintenance needs to management.
Coordinate shuttle scheduling with the resort and event teams.
Provide area knowledge and general assistance to guests in a friendly, helpful manner.
Support special events and group bookings by offering timely shuttle support.
There may be gaps of time between shuttle services, in this time, the Shuttle Driver may be asked to perform light maintenance related tasks at the property, or pick up supplies around town.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Valid Class 4 Restricted BC Driver's License (required).
Clean driving record and current driver's abstract.
Prior experience in driving, transportation, or guest services roles.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with a variety of guests.
Ability to stay calm, professional, and courteous in a variety of driving conditions.
Comfortable using communication tools (radios, phone) and following safety protocols.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
Previous work experience in a resort, marina, or customer service environment.
Familiarity with the Ladysmith/Chemainus/Cowichan Valley area.
CPR/First Aid certification considered an asset.
Able to manage time and prioritize driving schedule efficiently.
Capable of lifting luggage and assisting guests with mobility needs.
Physical Demands of the Job
This position requires long periods of driving or sitting, lifting guest luggage, and assisting passengers into and out of the shuttle van. You may occasionally be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
