Position: Local Shunt/Shuttle Driver (Shunt Truck)



Location: Tecumseh, ON



Shift: Afternoons

Our company is seeking a reliable and experienced local shunt/shuttle driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for moving trailers in and out of loading docks within our facilities and customers. As a shunt/shuttle driver, you will be operating tractors or shunt trucks, and you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our trailers are properly positioned for loading and unloading. You will be required to move trailers safely and efficiently to and from the docks while adhering to company safety policies and procedures.



Responsibilities:


Operate tractors or shunt trucks to move trailers in and out of loading docks Move trailers to designated areas within the facility Inspect vehicles for defects before and after each trip Maintain accurate records of daily activities and fuel consumption Follow safety procedures and protocols at all times Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications:


Valid commercial driver's license (AZ) with a clean driving record Minimum of 1 year of experience as a shunt driver Ability to operate a tractor or shunt truck Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays Good understanding of safety procedures and protocols Ability to follow instructions and adhere to company policies and procedures

Physical Requirements:


Ability to sit for extended periods of time Ability to climb in and out of the vehicle frequently Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to work in various weather conditions
